Objective

To train and certificate personnel in the First Aid at Work qualification meeting with the requirements of the HSE (First Aid) Regulations (1981) and the approved Code of Practice L74 guidelines.

Syllabus

Legal aspects of First Aid at Work, fractures, spinal injury, soft tissue injury, basic life support, unconsciousness and CPR, angina, heart attack, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, recognition and treatment of shock, poisons and harmful substances, controlling minor and severe bleeds, crush injuries, casualty examination, management and transport of serious head injuries, eye injuries, burns, scalds, chemical burns, electrical burns, first aid equipment and record keeping, advice on hygiene, Hepatitis B, HIV and AIDS.

Cost

£800 for up to a maximum of 12 people, plus £17.50 per student
